Miwako Yato Teague (Architecture ‘10)
Miwako passed away in June 2022 after a short illness.  She will be remembered as an architect, a loving cook and gardener by her friends and family. Miwako also had a profound love of children and nature. Miwako is survived by her family, brother Takafumi Yato, Fumiko Yato, and Takashi Yato.

If you would like to make contributions in Miwako’s memory, a donation to Cranbrook’s annual fund can be made specifically for the purchase of books for the Art Academy library in the annual fund’s note section.

Additionally, University of Michigan’s Penny Stamps School of Art and Design has a Miwako Yato Fund set up specifically for the Ceramic department, where Benjamin teaches. For more information on how to memorialize Miwako, contact Benjamin from this website.
